For equipping students to apply their specialized knowledge and skills to the real world

Human beings are social animals who can gain self-awareness and grasp the meaning of life only through their interactions with others. And it is only when we have acquired a wide knowledge that enables us to understand such things as mind and body, self and others, human beings and the natural environment, the significance of our world in the context of history, and our country’s position in the international community, that we can really apply to the real world what we have learned in our fields of expertise. Communication skills have a bearing on all these things. Specialized subjects are not the only subjects you can take in the Faculty of Science. Another major focus of education in our Faculty is on the liberal arts, whose subjects are taught in parallel with specialized subjects over the four-year period.

The subjects provided by the Department of Liberal Arts are grouped into the following areas:

Languages
Fundamental to every discipline and also the basis of communication
Health and physical education
Deal with the physical body that, in tandem with the mind, forms the foundations for human existence
Biology
One of the essential fields of sciences (though we do not have our own biology department in the Faculty)
Humanities and social sciences
Two major disciplines alongside the natural sciences
Teacher-training program
Teaches the subjects that, together with specialized subjects, are necessary to acquire a teacher’s certificate.
