Development of new photoelectrodes for CO2 fixation

We are also developing photocatalytic electrodes for the reduction of carbon dioxide using water as an electron source. When visible light is irradiated on the photocathode developed in our laboratory with an applied potential, useful compounds can be obtained from the photocathode. We are also working on solar carbon dioxide reduction under conditions where no external bias is applied by combining a photocathode and a photoanode, as shown in Fig. 1.
