Professor Isamu Shiina received the 30th Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work FY 2012
The Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ) announced the recipients of the 30th Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work FY 2012. From the Graduate School of Chemical Sciences and Technology, the TUS professor received the Prize for Science for his outstanding achievements in the development of chemical reactions and natural products syntheses.
Professor Isamu Shiina (Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Science) was awarded the 30th Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work for his work on the "Development of a Rapid Dehydration Condensation and Asymmetric Esterification Reactions, and their Application to the Synthesis of Natural Bioactive Compounds." The CSJ Award for Creative Work is intended for researchers who lead pioneering research achievements in six areas that are provided by the CSJ. This year, 10 people won out of the 12 global contestants.
Award Title: Development of Chemo- and Stereoselective Dehydration Condensation Reactions as well as the Synthetic Research of Pharmacologically Active Compounds
